Gabby Petito’s Family Says Brian Laundrie’s Parents Know Where She Is

The family of missing Long Island native Gabby Petito on Thursday accused her boyfriend’s family of withholding information on her whereabouts, as they slammed the kin’s silence as “infuriating.”

“The family is devasted,” attorney Richard Stafford said at a press briefing. “Every day that this goes on, they get more and more devastated.”

The lawyer added, “They’re at the point that that desperation has turned to anger. They know that the Laundries know where their daughter is, and they will not tell them. That’s infuriating.”

Petito, 22, was on a cross-country trek with beau Brian Laundrie when she went missing last month — with Laundrie returning to their home in Florida without her on Sept. 1.

He has since retained a lawyer and refused to cooperate with cops, as his parents have also turned detectives away from their home in North Port, Florida, where the young couple lived.

The Laundries have also refused to talk to Petito’s distraught parents.

“I know they reached out on Friday the 10th and I believe again on the 11th, and the Laundries refused to answer them,” Stafford said. “They stayed silent.”

Petito’s parents also sent a letter to the Laundries Thursday, reiterating that “we believe you know the location where Brian left Gabby.”

“We beg you to tell us,” the letter said. “As a parent how could you put Gabby’s younger brothers and sisters through this?

“Gabby lived with you for over a year,” it said. “She was going to be your daughter-in-law. How can you keep her location hidden?”

The couple visited Petito’s family in Long Island in June, when Petito attended a high school graduation party, Stafford said.

He said the two planned to marry but postponed the wedding due to the COVID-19 pandemic and chose instead to go on the coast-to-coast trip.

The couple left on their trip on July 2 in Petito’s 2012 white Ford Transit van.

On Aug. 12, tensions flared between the couple when police in Moab, Utah, pulled them over after a witness reported seeing them scuffling.

Petito, who told cops she suffered from obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety, admitted the two had been arguing.

The pair agreed to separate for the night in lieu of police pressing charges, according to a police report.

On Aug. 25, Petito spoke with her mother, Nichole Schmidt, for the last time on FaceTime. The mom reported her missing to police in Suffolk County on Saturday.

Police in North Port, who are leading the investigation, said Thursday that they had no evidence of criminality in the case and had not yet spoken to Laundrie.

Brian Laundrie has refused to speak to authorities on Gabby Petito’s disappearance.

Cops said Laundrie’s lawyer, Steven Bertolino, had turned over a piece of property that investigators were seeking.

Bertolino told The Post that it was a key to the Ford van, which was seized Saturday.

Petito’s family has twice pleaded with Laundrie and his family to cooperate in the probe.
